In this article Donald Kooiker from Duckbridge, a small full-time Dutch indie developer, gives 5 important game jam tips for game developers. (A game jam occurs when developers come together for a few days to develop prototypes for games.)
The five tips are: 1) strategizing, 2) determining how to juxtapose the best ideas into a gaming format, 3) inviting the public to play a prototype, 4) team members picking individual ideas they are excited about, and 5) taking risks. Team members who pick tasks they are excited about are likely to continue to have the motivation it takes for completion of the project.
