Game-based Approach to Teacher Education at ASU Builds Essential Skills

The Quest 2 Teach program, a program produced in conjunction with Arizona State University’s Center for Games and Impact and the Sanford Inspire Program at the Mary Fulton Teachers College, simulates classroom teaching behaviors and learning scenarios for undergraduate teacher education students. Students are helped through the process of learning how to use the software by several prompts including “maps, pop-ups, and in-game reminders from NPCs” demonstrating how to navigate through the game”. Moreover, the Quest2Teach developers state that there is a process of research and development for refining the game for different teacher education program environments.
