“Level Up Learning” Captures State of Digital Games in Classroom

Level Up Learning: A National Survey of Teaching with Digital Games reports that games help students learn in greater gains than those students who do not learn with gaming programs. According to Takeuchi and Vaala of the Games and Learning Publishing Council “only 42 percent of teachers stated that science scores improved versus 71 percent of math teachers”. Currently almost 75% of Kindergarten through eighth grade teachers utilize digital games as instructional tools mainly to deliver instruction-based content mandated by local, state, and national authorities. Moreover, teachers who use games in their personal lives are more likely to report students with higher scores and the most knowledge of gaming consoles. “Level Up Learning” Captures State of Digital Games in Classroom
